Discussion Held to Strengthen Student Discipline at Chenkaladi Central College

A discussion aimed at strengthening student discipline was held today at the main hall of Chengaladi Central College, which falls under the Kalkuda Education Zone in Batticaloa.

The event, conducted under the leadership of the school's Principal, Mr. K. Suvarneswaran, was organized to raise awareness and enhance student discipline. Participating in the discussion were religious leaders, officials from the Kalkuda Zonal Education Office, teachers, the School Development Society Secretary, the Old Students' Association Secretary and members, officers from the Chengaladi Divisional Secretariat, a public health inspector, officers from the Eravur Police Department, Chengaladi Pradeshiya Sabha members, representatives from local trade unions, the barbers' union, and community activists. They all shared constructive views related to student discipline.

Topics discussed in detail during the event included:

– Changes in student behavior

– Proper dress code suitable for school

– Acceptable hair-cut styles

– Student attendance and punctuality

– General discipline

– School-related romantic relationships

– Influence of social media

– Importance of adhering to school rules and regulations

– Preventive measures to tackle disciplinary issues

The importance of parents being more attentive to their children and the need for strong parent–teacher collaboration to maintain an effective learning environment were strongly emphasized.

It was resolved that in order to instill respectful behavior, positive habits, and a sense of responsibility among students, there should be more guidance programs, cultural events, and counseling services conducted at the school.

All participants unanimously agreed that regular discipline-focused awareness programs must be held to safeguard the students' future.
