Minister Sunil Handunnetti has stated that a favorable situation has emerged to provide concessions and relief to the public, as revenue has increased across all sectors of the government.
He made these remarks while addressing the media after participating in an event held in Colombo.
"At present, all sectors of the government have generated more revenue than expected.
As a result, there is no need to impose or increase taxes any further.
Instead, taxes can be restructured in a more humane manner. The time is ripe for that.
Along with this, a conducive environment has been created to provide concessions and relief to the public," he added.
